2022 World Cup (Nicosia): Italy triumphs in men and women

If well begun is half done... then this year is full of satisfaction! The first round of the World Cup, held in Nicosia (Cyprus), presented several shooters rewarded in the skeet who rely on our chokes: among them the Azzurri and Slovak teams who gained a place on the podium.

Starting from the women's competition, the Gemini trio made up of Diana Bacosi, Martina Bartolomei and Chiara Cainero kept their first place throughout the race. Closing the three qualifying series with a score of 215 out of 225, the Azzurri beat the United States team after a comeback final. Draw at the first platform, defeated at the second, but then victory at the third, fourth and fifth, thus ruling over the American shooters by 7-3 and conquering the much desired gold.
On the third place of the podium there were two Slovak athletes who adopt our chokes in their competitions, such as Danka Barteková, newly silver in the individual, and Lucia Kopcanova.

The Italy-US challenge has also been replicated in men’s. Our Tammaro Cassandro was on the podium representing the Bel Paese, several times in this first stage of the World Cup, Elia Sdruccioli and Gabriele Rossetti. Qualified in second place with one point less than the Americans, in the duel for the gold medal they put in place their best technical skills going for a 7-3. Even for them a gold rich in satisfaction!

Finished in the best way for our shooters the first stage of the World Cup. A positive start to the season as difficult, by virtue of the hostile weather conditions that have fallen on the platforms this week... but nothing stops those who choose our chokes and put grit combined with technique in what they do! Congratulations to all the participants and to those wearing a new medal around their necks.

Save the date of the second stage of the World Cup in Lima, scheduled from 27 March to 7 April.
