The team event of the third World Cup leg saw new medals for our shooters called to represent their nation. In the afternoon the men and women non-Olympic skeet team competitions were held at the Trap Concaverde range (Lonato).
First things first, among women our Diana Bacosi and Martina Maruzzo, in the trio with Katiuscia Spada, closed the qualification round ranking second and hitting 214 targets. In the duel for the gold medal, the Italians challenged the Americans, yet surrendering after a great start. A 7 to 3 final score for the US team and a new silver medal for the shooters relying on Gemini chokes, however satisfied with their result.
The performance of the Czech shooter Barbora Sumova is also noteworthy, as she managed to place fourth with her team.
As regards the men’s team, Gemini attained a double success. The Czech team led by Jakub Tomeček, in this occasion together with Jan Zamecnik and Tomas Nydrle, climbed onto the top step of the podium. The Italian team and our shooters Gabriele Rossetti and Giancarlo Tazza along with Niccolò Sodi reached the podium again. The two national teams gave life to a thrilling final pahse: first and third set won by Italy, second, while the Czech Republic triumphed in the fourth and fifth ones. The medal match ended with a score of 6 to 4 for the Czechs.

Now it’s time to focus on the upcoming mixed team competitions, new Olympic event in Paris 2024, which will lead to the conclusion of this third stage of the World Cup.
