The first final of the World Championships Shotgun 2022 underway in Osijek (Croatia) immediately gives satisfactions! Trap and skeet events granting medals, world titles as well as quota placements to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics are being held on the Croatian platforms these days.
Despite the change of format, with a longer leg spread over three days instead of two, all the athletes managed to maintain concentration.
Indeed the first medal is awarded in the fair sex challenge thanks to the support of our chokes for the trap. To gain it was Zuzana Stefecekova, skillfully obtaining access to the medal match meanwhile confirming what she achieved over the 100 targets series (best placing) just as for the 25 qualification round. In the contest valid for the title, the already gold medalist at Tokyo 2020 Olympics finishes third, hitting 20 targets out of 25, which allowed her to conquer the bronze.
Gold went to Transalpine Carole Cormenier while silver was attained by the Iberian Fatima Galvez.
The Slovakian athlete also seals the pass to Paris 2024 for her National Olympic Committee.
Congratulations to Zuzana for the excellent performance and her double success: we are happy that you belong to our family!
