After the bronze in the Women's, another shooter using Gemini chokes for skeet shooting climbed to the podium. We are talking about Jakub Tomecek who, to the European Skeet Championship taking place in Larnaca (Cyprus), has shone through the individual final of skeet.
The Czech earned the victory after a series of shots against the Italian opponent Luigi Lodde. It was a breathtaking challenge on the competition field and one that enchanted the many spectators witnessing it. Recovering until reaching a score of 38 out of 40, Jakub then forced Lodde to the tie-break for the conquest of the continental title. This triggered a succession of hits, until the opponent missed the 20th clay pigeon. With a score of 20 to 19, our athlete won the gold medal and the associated Olympic quota for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
To complete the podium British Ben Llewellin.
A new success for Jakub, new European champion and leading athlete for the Czech Republic. We are happy to have a “champion of high caliber” in our great Family!
Now it is time for the team competitions that will lead the closing of the European Championship.
